It's now December and yet another year is drawing to a close and we're now moving towards the last stage of our engagement journey. We've been listening to the views of our customers, retailers, stakeholders and expert panel for months and now it's time to formulate our Draft Plan to submit to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). We'll be taking a break over the December and January period but look forward to concluding this initial stage of our Customer engagement in February 2024.

From all of us at Jemena, we wish you a safe and happy break.

What did our customers have to say about the engagement process?

Gas Networks 2050: Reflections on group participation

Jemena customers like Sean and Michael told us that they have learned a lot being part of our 10-month engagement process, had formed friendships along the way, and were interested in the future of Jemena.

“I think that there’s a sense of relief, it’s been a fairly long process, nearly a year, since November 2022 when we all met in North Sydney. At the beginning of that process there was a lot of unknowns. There was a lot of information that we all had to take onboard in respect to what Jemena did, what the future was for renewables, for gas and for electricity,” said Sean.

“I feel that it was pretty deliberative, that we managed to deal with some really challenging questions in respect of the future of gas, and particularly renewable gas.”

Michael told us: “It’s all kind of paying off because we’re putting our thumb down and saying all right here’s where our values land, here’s what we want to see reflected in Jemena’s report.”
