Kicking off the Advisory Board and Expert Panel

14 October 2022

Customer choice, market dynamics and policy and technological changes are driving a shift towards renewable energy. In many future scenarios the future role of Jemena Gas Networks is uncertain.

To grapple with this challenge we have kicked off Gas Networks 2050 our ambitious approach to bring in customers and stakeholders to guide our thinking on how we could respond and position for the transition. #GN50 has three crucial elements. An end-customer user group to ensure customers remain the focus, an Advisory Board to act as a critical friend and an Expert Panel to scope out future scenarios to guide our thinking.

This week was big.

We held the first session of our Advisory Board: independently chaired by Rosemary Sinclair and with members including Professor Peta Ashworth, Gavin Dufty, Mary Karras, Aiden Mullan, Tennant Reed, Victoria Jordan, Douglas McCloskey, Andrew Richards, Natalie Thacker, facilitated by Matt Pearce (KPMG) and attendees from Jemena including Frank Tudor, Shaun Reardon and Ana Dijanosic.

We also held the first meeting of our Expert Panel comprised of Matt Clemow, Dr Patrick Hartley, Shahana McKenzie, Andrew Lewis, Matthew Warren and Brian Spak with Alan Finkel attending as a guest.

A big thank you to our Advisory Board and Expert Panel members. We are looking forward to collaborating with you over the next few months. The outcomes will be vital to development of our pivotal 2025-30 business plan.
