Your Network, Your Say

Like most people, you probably don't think about your natural gas supply that often – you only expect the water to be hot when you step into the shower and a flame to appear when you turn on your stove.

So you might not be aware of Jemena. We own the natural gas pipelines that run underneath the streets of NSW in these areas:

The Jemena Gas Network

But we're not the only company responsible in connecting your home with natural gas. There are several companies involved, from production through to sending your gas bill. As a distribution company, Jemena makes up approximately 37% of a typical household gas bill:

This short video explains our role in the gas journey and how your gas bill is determined:

A quick and simple explanation of how Natural Gas is connected to your home

Our prices are regulated

What we charge for our service is regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER).

Every five years, Jemena, along with most other gas network providers, is required by the AER to review and submit a new customer gas pricing and services plan. The next plan is for the period 1 July 2020- to 30 June 2025 and will outline our service and pricing for that 5 year period.

Your voice is important to us

Our company name, Jemena, is an Aboriginal word. It means "to hear, listen and think". We know that using gas is a choice for our customers, so understanding your energy requirements drive how we operate the gas network and deliver services to our customers.

We want to hear what matters to you most when it comes to your gas connection - from the types of products and services you’d like to see through to the prices you are willing to pay.
